Flying Snark

The Flying Snark, an omnivorous bird belonging to the Accipitridae family. The Flying Snark is native to North America and flourishes in the State of Michigan. The Flying Snark, unlike its family members has a fiery red and elegant blue plumage that radiates with beauty. The Flying Snark is infamous for consuming little children whom are left by themselves in talons reach of the great bird.

Background Information           Below: Mr. Matthew Lamore with Dittie as a Young Snark.
First discovered and recorded by the infamous Matthew Lamore in May, 2010 while hiking in the Northwest Michigan wilderness. Lamore first described the bird as being "magnificent and breathtaking." He goes on to say in his legendary journal titled The Birds and I "this magnificent creature of God stood taller as a basket hoop." Since the Snark has first been sighted is has been the center of attention of the Ornithology department in North America. Since the study of the Great Flying Snark has began scientists have often wondered why and how Lamore had named them the Flying Snark. On October 15, 2011 a scientist began an    experiment to see how the Snark would react to children by bringing to a local school. When the Snark began imitating the snarky comments made by little (annoying) children and only snarky the discovery of why and how Lamore had named them the Flying Snark was conclusive. Although Lamore has not been seen since his departure for the Northwest wilderness in 2010, Legend says that he made friends with the Great bird and rode on the back of a bird he named Dittie and described as being "Greater than all among him, his beauty radiates greater than the sun, and he and I shall live amongst nature FOREVER MORE." Lamore concluded his journal with this final farewell. "Fellow Nature Lovers and ornithologists I have set off on a life long journey. Do not worry for I will forever be safe and sound with my new family the Great Flying Snarks. P.S. I left this copy of my journal for all to learn from my discoveries because I know everything."
Flying Snarks migrate to an unknown location south of the equator. They are not protected because protection is not needed for these Great birds. If attacked in anyway it is said that the birds seem almost invincible and can claw through modern day tanks and have the ability to pick up and carry items 5x there own body weight. The first time a Flying Snark was shot at legend says that the single Snark that had been shot at, disappeared for a matter of 30 seconds, and came back with a colony of 100 or so led by a Snark Greater and larger than all behind it with a man riding on his back.

Description

The Great male Beast (full grown) stands between (9-12 ft) tall and can weigh anywhere between (210-400 lbs). The wingspan for a male Flying Snark is between (15-20 ft.). The male Snarks are wrapped in a fiery red plumage that looks almost as if the bird is on fire. The female bird (full grown) stands between (8-10 ft) tall and can weigh between (175-350 lbs). The wingspan for a female Flying Snark is between (12-17 ft.). The female bird is presented with a blue plumage that is said to be "beauty beyond comprehension" (Lamore). Flying Snarks mate once a year in the early months of spring each year. Flying Snarks in order to successfully mate, participate in a mating ritual in that the pair ascends to 1500 ft. exactly, and then dive swiftly toward the earth at an astonishing 150 mph while attacking one another. If the pair finishes the ritual before hitting the ground and suffering a horrible death they have successfully mated. The pair when mating are said to look as if fire and ice have entered into a temporary battle to see who is more powerful. Flying Snarks live in colonies of 20-50 birds, but some colonies have been sighted to be as big as 100-200 birds.
Flying Snarks lay eggs that weigh between (10-15 lbs). Flying Snarks (both sexes) have talons that measure in length between (7-12 inches) when amplified.
